Deepinder Goyal has resigned as the chief executive officer of Eternal Ltd., marking a significant leadership transition at the company. Blinkit CEO Albinder Singh Dhindsa will take over as Group CEO, with the change set to take effect from February 1, 2026, subject to shareholder approvals.
The decision was disclosed through a regulatory filing, alongside the company’s quarterly financial results. Goyal, who founded the company and has led it for nearly two decades, will remain associated with Eternal and has been recommended for the role of Vice Chairman on the board.
In a letter to shareholders, Goyal said he has recently felt drawn towards pursuing higher-risk ideas and experimentation that do not align with the strategic scope of a public company. He stressed that Eternal requires sharp focus and discipline, something he believes is best served through this leadership transition.
Goyal clarified that while his role changes, his commitment to the company remains intact. He said he will continue to be involved in long-term strategy, leadership development, culture, and governance, while day-to-day operational decisions will now rest with Dhindsa.
Explaining the choice of successor, Goyal highlighted Dhindsa’s role in building Blinkit into a key growth engine, taking it from acquisition to breakeven. He added that Blinkit remains Eternal’s largest growth opportunity and that the company’s decentralised structure will continue unchanged.
